The Art Crafts Shop Heintz Copper and Enamel Dish
The Art Crafts Shop was begun by in 1889 by Otto Heintz. In 1906 he changed the name to Heintz Art Metal Shop. This dish or card tray, marked for The Crafts Shop, is a very early example of Mr. Heintz work. The copper was crudely formed with uneven blows of the hammer. The enamel is thick and raised which makes it prone to chipping. The Art Nouveau design of this piece includes hearts, rarely seen in Heintz pieces. Diameter approximately 5 3/4 inches, depth approximately 1/2 inch. Very good estate condition, a few chips and flaws to the enamel (see photos).
