| Artist: American School Medium: Watercolor on velvet Size: 15.5” x 18” Signed: Unsigned Date: 19th century Description: Unsigned American school theorem portraying a bowl of fruit with a desirable watermelon. The image was painted using watercolor onto velvet. The frame is a lemon gold antique frame that suits the theorem well. Condition: The condition is good for its age. There is discoloration due to age around the edges of the theorem, but nothing distracting. There is general toning to the velvet. The glass appears to be 19th century. The frame is in good condition, aside from several small losses to the gesso and surface scratches. Provenance: From a local Americana collection that purchased the theorem from Skinner. | ||
