Handsome whistling vessel that stands on three tear-shaped legs, manioc tubers or perhaps sweet potatoes, bridge handle on top in the form of an extended monkey. Geometric markings decorate the vessel's legs. The cream colored terracotta item whistles through the spout. It is in excellent shape with minor restoration to the legs. An extraordinarily double sided bronze effigy tumi. A typical tumi would normally have a single final atop. This is a very rare double sided male/female effigy. Fully clothed male with headdress on one side and a naked female with broad necklace on the other. Measures 8.76 cm. Very Fine to Choice Condition.

Delightful miniature mortar in comparison. The majority of available mortars on the market today are rather larger and seldom show little wear. This smaller example is completely intact and shows tremendous amounts of character from extensive use. Truly a rare sight. VG condition. Valdivia region, Ecuador. 2000BC/300BC. Measures 3.25" long by 1.85" high. 8.25 cm, 4.7 cm.

A lovely set of three hand crafted bronze Inca Tupus. Sets of two tupus (normally sized around 6" in height) are rarely seen at one time as only one is usually produced for an individual. Here, a set of three large pieces are being offered. Each measures over 10"/25.4 cm. In Fine condition. Peru 16th to 17th century. Handsomely displayed in a 12" sq. shadow box.

This outstanding double figural vessel, illustrates an erotic scene that may have served ritual purposes and not common in Ecuadorian archaeology. Probably made as a votive offering. Shows traces of post-fired paint. Northern Manabi region, Ecuador. 500BC-500AD. Measures over 8" in height by 10" in length.

Only seen a vary small handful of these graters. One side is embellished with meticulously placed stones for grating and the other side is incised with a pictograph of what looks like a coatimundi masked fisherman with spear. Fish and other objects appear throughout. A great depiction of daily life from the Jamacoaque culture. Fine example. Manta region, Ecuador. 500 BC - 500 AD. Measures 6" in length.

An adorable Nariño poporo (lime vessel) from the Capuli cultural complex of the highland region of southern Colombia. Fine Condition. 500–1000 AD. Rare example. Measures over 3" in height.

This is an exceptional tall stone mortar of the Transition Style. Beautiful serpentine stone coloring with an excellent spiral perforation on the tail. Valdivia region, Ecuador. 2000BC/300BC. Very Fine. Measuring a massive 9 1/2" long by 5" tall and 3" wide.

Handsome torso of a Dignitary. Hollow grayware pottery. Fragmentary figure depicting a male wearing a tall, conical headdress having a central tassel and a broad segmented collar around his neck with dangle type ear ornaments. Some remaining areas of a cream-tan surface pigment. Head and headdress reattached, some losses to the reattached ear ornaments. Northern Esmeraldas region, Ecuador. 600-200 A.D. Measures over 11" tall.

Nice example of a Bahia de Caraquez - La Plata type seated shaman. Evidence of cranial deformation in practice. Legs crossed and hands are held to his knees as in a spiritual state. Hint of post fired pigments are visible. Head garment, ear plugs and nose ring are intact and in overall nice condition. Manabi region, Ecuador. 500BC/500AD.
