This nicely detailed Vishnu holds a shankha (conch shell)and a sudarshan chakra in his upper hands. His lower hands hold a padma (lotus) and a club. The back of his head shows his srichakra. Elegant small Bhudevi statue. Bhudevi (Mother Earth) represents fertility. She is one of the two forms of Laksmi and one of the two consorts of Vishnu. She wears a conical mukuta and a hallow or srichakra on the back of her head, indicating her divinity. She stands in the tribhanga posture with a blue lotus in her right hand. Her left arm is in the lolahasta mudra (the tail of a cow). In very good condition. Beautiful dark patina. Height 12.5 cm. India, 16/17th. century.
The Tirthankara Parsvanatha sits in meditation on a lion throne, protected by the seven headed snake Dharenendra and flanked by two standing and two sitting Jinas. Together they represent the 5 Jina image or pancatirthi. The two figures on the side of the lion throne represent Padmavari (the female) and Samvara. Engraved text on the back of the statue. In very good condition. Size 15.5 x 8 cm. India, 16/17th. century.
Rare and very beautiful elaborated bronze statue of Vithoba, Vitthala or Panduranga. Vithoba is a manifestation of Vishnu or his avatar Krishna and holds a conch shell in his left hand. The quality of the bronze and the craftsmanship is very high. Weight: 1 kg. Height 17 cm.

This gold repousse (22ct) representation of Krishna subdueing Katiya, dancing on Katiya (Katiya mardanam) was the center piece of a necklace that belonged to a priest. Katiya was a seven-headed poisonous snake (naga). Great craftsmanship. India, Tamil Nadu, second half of the 19th. century. The backside is silver (sse the pictures). In excellent condition.
