Double-edged Benin sword - ivory, gold, leopard skin

Impressive African sword of a tribal chief with an ivory handle and a leopard skin sheath from the Benin Kingdom (now in Nigeria). The handle represents the Queen Mother (Iyoba) Idia. She used to fight with a double-edged sword. The blade is very sharp and has a deep blood groove on both sides. Measurements: blade 43cm; ivory 12,5cm; sword without the leopard skin sheath 66,5 cm;
