Antique gilt bronze statue of the crowned bodhisattva Samantabhadra (Kuntuzangpo in Tibetan)riding on his six-tusked elephant. He is the protector of the lotus sutra. Samantabhadra means universal virtue and universal worthy. The six tusks represent the six paramitas and the overcoming of the attachment to the six senses. Height 45 cm. and 22 cm. wide. Base 28 / 18 cm. Weight 6 kg. In good condition. Tibet, 17/18th. century.
