An original Japanese color woodblock print by the artist Utagawa Hiroshige I (1797–1858), from the series "The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers - Tale of the 47 Ronin" (Chûshingura) in horizontal oban size. Depicting hunters returning after bringing the body of the murdered Yoichibei to his cottage. Signed "Hiroshige ga", published around 1836 by Izumiya Ichibei and censor's seal: kiwame. A ritual copper bronze vessel for water, the spout made in the shape of a bull head. For a similar ewer named "gaumukhi" please refer to "Goetterwelt Indiens - Traditionelle Bronzekunst", Roemer- und Pelizaeus-Museum Hildesheim 1997, no. 166, page 239. A rare octagonal porcelain dish decorated in underglaze blue with a flowering bush by a rock, along the border stylized Chinese characters. The rim glazed brown, the base with three spur marks and a "fuku" mark within a double square. Dating to the early Edo period. Condition: well with little scratches, rim with 3 tiny frits and two chips, and one chip under the glaze (photo 8). Dimension: diameter: 20 cm, 3.2 cm high.

A rare door pull (hikite), made of copper or bronze, dating to the 18th century. Decorated in polychrome cloisonne enamels with gilt wires, the bowl with figures in a mountain landscape, set into a frame with phoenixes amidst clouds encircled by a rim in champleve. Reverse with engraved number 13. Please refer to the Victoria & Albert Museum no. M.283-1912 for a similar door pull. An Arita hexagonal lidded porcelain box on six bun feet, decorated with chrysanthemum and other plants growing amongst rocks, in underglaze blue. Dating to the early Edo period, c. 1690. Please refer for a quite identical box to Barry Davies: "Ko-Imari from the Collection of Oliver Impey", No. 42, pages 86-87. Condition: very good, only one handle restuck and lid with a tiny bubble burst. Dimension: handle to handle: 20 cm, 12 cm high.
