A Japanese "arrow toss" game vase made of copper and decorated with polychrome enamels, the rims and wires are gilt. Showing antiques and auspicious symbols on a white ground, the base with "fuku" mark. The "arrow-toss" game originated from China and was at the beginning very popular with the aristocrats and survived as a pastime well into the Edo period. From an old Swiss private collection. Cream colored silk satin ground embroidered with boys, peonies, peaches, phoenixes and auspicious symbols in different stitches, couched gold thread and Peking knot. Bordered with a dark silk band and a blended fabric band and lining. Condition: faded, few tiny stains, some loose threads, few thin areas. Upper band with some holes and lining stained. The dark border is maybe later. Dimension: 49.3 cm x 213 cm.
Snuff bottle of rounded form made of agate with some darker cloudy inclusions, standing on a flat foot. The stopper is a metal mounted coral imitating glass bead, short metal spoon. Condition: fine, mouth rim with few tiny rim frits, spoon maybe shortened. Dimension: total height: 6.2 cm.
Buff stoneware dish with flared rim, broad footring and recessed base. Painted with chrysanthemum pattern in iron brown pigment under a crackled glaze with greenish tinge. Date: approx. 1400 - 1600. Silk panel assembled from a pair Chinese sleeve bands embroidered with flowers, lingzhi and peaches in satin stitch and Peking knot. Bordered by a woven and an embroidered band. Brown silk lining. Condition: little faded, minor loose threads. Dimension: 66.5 cm x 36.7 cm.
A well hollowed, bulbous shaped agate snuff bottle with some dark inclusions, standing on a flat foot. The stopper with transparent green glass top and bone spoon. Condition: fine, only stopper with few tiny rim frits. Dimension: total height: 6 cm.
Small lacquered and polychrome wood traveling shrine with chased and gilded copper fittings. Inside with a Kannon Bosatsu seated in meditation on a lotus throne rising from a lotus pond. On both sides of the multi-armed goddess is standing a Dragon King. Condition: lacquer losses, some fittings a little bent. Dimension: total height: 17 cm.
Large rectangular intaglio seal or weight, made from bronze or brass, one side engraved with a prayer arch and Islamic script. From an old Swiss collection. Condition: some traces of usage. Dimension: 7.8 cm x 5.8 cm x 0.4 cm.
A Chinese hardwood carving depicting a young couple reclining on a bed, the man smoking an opium pipe, assisted by the woman wearing lotus shoes.
