A mask of a grimacing old man, carved of light wood, maybe hinoki, with gesso and polychrome pigments, inset with gray horse mane hair. The inside with brown lacquer and residue of two old paper labels. Condition: pigment and hair losses, old color mends. Dimension: 18 cm high x 14 cm wide.

An Anglo Indian shisham wood frame with cabriolet legs and mehrab shaped aperture. Profusely inlaid with foliate scroll work and raised chevron borders of alternating bone and ebony. Condition: some parts of chevron border missing, one leg with loss, fronton with two chips, without glass and trestle. Dimension: total height: c. 73.5 cm x 35 cm, aperture: c. 35 cm x 25 cm.

A paper fan with undecorated bamboo guards and sticks. One side finely painted with figural scenes in ink and color. The silk fan case is embroidered with a Tang poem by Li Bai and the reverse with a landscape in multicolored silks and couched gold thread. Condition: fan: fine, few traces of usage. Fan case: slightly stained and traces of usage, few loose and missing threads. Dimension: fan: length of guards: 31.5 cm, fan opened approx: 51 cm wide. Fan case: 30 cm long x 5.6 cm wide.
