With maker's mark "SF" standing for Sing Fat, who worked in the early 20th century in Canton, a Chinese character mark and "90". Condition: few traces of usage, insert with rim frittings. A pair of Chinese biscuit porcelain dishes painted in the Famille noire palette. The well decorated with a mythical beast standing on a rock, the border with auspicious symbols. The base with a leaf mark. Condition: one with a small rim chip and a hairline, both with wear to decoration. Dimension: diameter: 24.2 cm. Without wooden stands.
A bamboo carving of a laughing, corpulent Budai, shown seated with bag, wearing loosely draped robes exposing his belly. Condition: both big toes and 2 finger tips chipped and 4 small losses to the garment. Dimension: 13.7 cm high, weight: 144 g.
Beautifully carved and pierced ivory brushpot with a continuous scene of figures within buildings and garden landscape, all upon a pierced circular fret ground. Bolted bottom. Condition: some losses to the fret ground, few minute chips. Bottom with cracks, sometimes a little bit loose, few glue residue. Dimension: 10.7 cm, weight: 150 g. A small belt hook carved from pale celadon colored jade with white and grayish mottling. One side ending in a dragonhead with bulging eyes, the underside with an oval disk for attachment. Condition: one eye chipped. Dimension: 7.1 cm long, weight: 30 g.
A sugar bowl with cover made of reddish Yixing clay. The exterior of the body enameled with a bird among flowers. The inside with turquoise green enamel. Base with impressed mark. Condition: fine, cover with a tiny rim chip. Dimension: handle to handle: c. 13.5 cm, 9 cm high, weight: 244 g.
Circular bamboo caddy or box for the export. The outside deeply carved with cartouches depicting figures and phoenixes. The lid with carving in bas relief of two attendants. Condition: Good, few minor losses and some cracks, a small crack restoration (pic. 12). Dimension: 15.9 cm high, 12.7 cm diameter, weight: 506 gram.
This hanging depicts a family ritual ceremony of a Confucian aristocratic household. Little metal wrapped thread couching and embroidery on red silk ground. Bordered with a figured and embossed silk ribbon. Brown silk lining. Condition: slightly faded, few loose threads, one tiny hole. Dimension: 70 cm x 111 cm, without border: 55 cm x 96 cm.
