A Mandarin square dating from the late Qing period. A male front insignia with an appliqued wild goose bird, denoting the fourth civil rank. Counting stitch embroidery on gauze in vivid colored silks, the sun disk worked in coral beads and surrounded by metal thread. Brocade bordering and brown silk lining. Condition: minimal wear and few loose threads. Dimension: total: 28.9 cm high x 30.3 cm wide.

A small midnight blue silk panel, maybe a former sleeve band, brocaded with gold threads in two different tones. Decorated with phoenixes, four-clawed dragons, an auspicious Chinese character, bats and waves. Bordered with silk and backed with cotton fabric. Condition: partial little wear and stained area. The two embroidery panels originate from the lower part of an official's court robe, a very rare mang pao. The ground fabric is sky-blue silk, the bottom is decorated with waves, stylized rocks, peonies, auspicious symbols and the "lishui" pattern. The upper section, between clouds and bats, is depicting a four-clawed dragon chasing the flaming pearl in couched gold and silver thread. Cream colored silk satin ground embroidered with boys, peonies, peaches, phoenixes and auspicious symbols in different stitches, couched gold thread and Peking knot. Bordered with a dark silk band and a blended fabric band and lining. Condition: faded, few tiny stains, some loose threads, few thin areas. Upper band with some holes and lining stained. Antique Chinese archer's ring pouch, worn suspended from a belt. The outside of the cylindrical case and the sliding top is embroidered with geometric pattern. Yellow silk ring holder, tassels and drawstring with couched gold knots and swastika. Condition: very good, little traces of usage and wear. Three different pairs of antique used silk lotus shoes with low heels for a Chinese lady having bound feet. Made of silk and cotton distinctly decorated with embroidery and woven ribbons. Condition: all shoes are worn, faded, with loose threads, and two pairs have lost parts of the ground fabric. Please look at the pictures carefully, they make part of the condition report. The cream colored satin silk ground with design of a peacock, a rooster and a small bird amidst flowers, elaborately embroidered in Peking and satin stitch. With blue and white edging. Backside with cream colored cotton lining. Condition: silk with patina, few small little stained areas, few traces of usage, a tiny hole under the flap. Dimension: 14.6 cm x 8.5 cm.
