Sold. 

An extraordinary, wooden figure of a tiger with a very long tail, sitting on a rockwork. It has an almost humanized facial expression and the mouth corners are showing small canines. It is painted with green and different brown pigments. Dating to the Joseon dynasty. Condition: partially lost or agglomerated coloring, some pigment fissures, few small cracks, one fang is worn. Dimension: total height: 35 cm x c. 15 cm x 17 cm.

Sold. 

Four gouache paintings on pith paper, made in Canton for the export in the 19th century. One with the rare depiction of a man smoking opium, the other 3 with a young lady at leisure. Mounted identically in lacquered frames. Condition: margins partially irregular and with small losses, one with a short split, very few tiny stains. Please look at the photos carefully being part of the condition report. Dimension: image approx.: 6.8 cm x 10.8 cm, frame: 12.8 cm x 16.9 cm.

Sold. 

A dark blue satin woman's garment, dating to the late Qing dynasty, with center opening fastened with a gilt metal ball button and two ribbons. The four lobed collar, terminating in ruyi heads, and all wide hems extravagantly embroidered with romance figures in Peking stitch and little gold thread couching. Trimmed with different woven borders, the straight sleeves with embroidered outer cuff bands. Later figured blue silk lining. Condition: very good, only partial little staining. Sold. 

Small ewer worked in silver alloy and metal. The pear shaped body on a splayed lotus foot. The spout emerging from a Makara and the handle with a dragon head. Decorated in repousse and chasing with two cartouches, one with the "four harmonious brothers" and the other with a Lama among animals. The domed cover attached to the body with a chain. Condition: final is loose maybe an addition, spout with missing stone inlay, foot little distorted, therefore slightly slanting. Please look at ...click for details

This hat was made to be worn for a wedding or for a child. Modeled after a court hat in red silk, the brim is lined with faux fur, hat top and streamers decorated with glass stones, couched gold thread and beads. Lined with red cotton fabric. Condition: some loose gold threads, traces of usage, some soiling. Please look at photos carefully, being part of condition report. Dimension: diameter inside c. 16 cm, length of streamers: 77 cm. Without hat stand.

Bronze sword having a long triangular, double-edged blade with broad mid-rib. Cast together with the rectangular grip ending in a bud-shaped pommel, decorated with incised ornaments. From a Swiss gentleman's collection. Condition: fine, green patina. Dimension: total length: 54 cm, 6.4 cm wide, weight: 874 g.

A circular pale celadon jade pendant, carved and pierced with a parrot perched on a flowering prunus branch. A quite identical plaque was sold 8 November 2013 by Christie's, London South Kensington. Condition: fine. Dimension: diameter: 5.2 cm, approx. 0.3 cm thick.

Japanese Komai-style gold damascened rectangular lady's vanity purse, decorated in shades of gold with a pair ho-o birds. The reverse with a Japanese river landscape. The interior fashioned with a small mirror beneath a double-door compartment, depicting egrets and the other side with a strap holding cigarettes in place. Condition: some traces of usage, strap replaced. Side with ho-o birds has 3 tiny dents. Dimension: 9.1 cm x 7 cm x 1.2 cm.

Chinese porcelain plate finely painted in Qianjiang enamels, showing a temple in a hilly landscape. Dated, inscribed and signed Tinghui (apparently Fang Tinghui, active late 19th century). The base with four character mark "Zhushan rui pin". Condition: fine, only gilt rim and blue enamel with little wear. Dimension: diameter: 22.6 cm, 3.8 cm high.
