Large bowl of deep rounded form, raised on a narrow foot with flared rim. The exterior chiselled and engraved, the neck with a band of nasta'liq inscription. Below a frieze of floral motifs and trilobed arches. Condition: traces of usage, rubbing to tinning. Dimension: diameter: 29.6 cm, 13.6 cm high, weight: 1.4 kg.

A quite large and heavy basin of bulbous body and with everted rim, the interior with tinning. The neck incised with interlaced split palmettes in cartouches and a roundel with calligraphic inscription. The body with lobed roundels and semicircles containing vegetal motifs. Dimension: diameter: 34.5 cm, 16.8 cm high, weight: 2.7 kg. Condition: traces of usage, body with small dents.

A Nyonya hairpin made of gilt silver with rubies or glass stones, mounted as brooch. Condition: repaired breakage to the pin, needle a bit warped, wear to gilding. Dimension: 9.7 cm long x 2.6 cm wide, weight: 12 g. Shipping by Priority Swisspost included.

The spherical body consisting of two hemispheres, locked together by a bayonet fitting. Burmese manuscript containing rules for the correct performance of the monastic ritual, written in Pali language. Containing 16 palm leaves and two wooden cover boards, decorated in red lacquer and gilding. The folios are inscribed (fourteen on both sides) on a plain gilt ground with ink or lacquer in five lines, having small buildings to show punctuation. The boards and the backside of two leaves are decorated with floral roundels and lotus leaves...

A tinned copper tea pot with etched decoration of birds among tendrils, Persian or Central Asian. The lid with brass knob. Condition: tin plating worn, some tiny dents. Dimension: 16.5 cm high, 22 cm long.

A quite large bamboo brush pot, all around deeply carved with warriors among a pagoda landscape. Condition: the separately carved volute foot with losses. One warrior with missing arm (see picture no.6), few cracks. Dimension: 18.5 cm high, diameter: c. 13.1 cm.

A hexagonal miniature table brass box, decorated with interlacing patterns, tendrils and Islamic calligraphy inscriptions, inlaid in silver and copper. With hinged lid and a small locking clasp, the interior with wood lining, mother-of-pearl and bone inlays. Condition: bottom of the lining lost. Dimension: 20.5 cm high.

A Chinese bronze censer with good patina in the form of a peach with leafage, standing on three feet. The lid with a smaller peach as knob. Condition: fine, only one leave with a short crack (see photo no. 6). Dimension: c. 13.6 cm long, 11.2 cm high, 11.5 cm wide.

An ornately worked, chased and engraved jug with dancing Burmese figures in repoussé. The handle in the form of an ogre. The spout might be a later addition, it is only silver plated. Base engraved "Moung Oung Myal 1875". No mark, silver tested. Condition: the ogre of the handle with a small loss, otherwise fine. Dimension: 11 cm high, weight: 382 g.

Set of three ceremonial lidded jars from the Islamic Maranao people of Mindanao in Southern Philippines. They are made of silvered copper alloy with geometric decoration in applied wire. Condition: few dents and bumps. Dimension: 23.5 cm and 29 cm high.

A finely carved female mask netsuke, showing the smiling Okame. The himotoshi edged with bone rings. Signed Shugetsu and with written seal "kakihan". Provenance: a gentleman's collection, Geneva - Switzerland. Condition: fine, only the green bone ring with chips. Dimension: 5.0 cm x 4.3 cm.

A male back Mandarin square with a leopard, denoting the 3rd military rank. Silk tapestry (kossu, k'o-suu) with metallic threads and painted details. The animal is standing on a rock above deep water, the ground with Taoist longevity symbols. The background was probably covered by peacock feathers, rarely survived to the present days. An elegant men's headgear dating around 1900, consisting of the cone-shaped indoor headdress and the outdoor heungnip or gat. Both are made of horsehair, the gat with a bamboo brim and gauze chin straps. The top part of the hat with a lacquered blossom. Condition: traces of usage, some splits near the bamboo brim. Dimension: gat: diameter 32 cm x c. 14 cm high, headdress: c. 14 cm high.

A pair of Chinese export porcelain plates with the tobacco leaf motif. Beautifully enamelled with a pair pheasants and two squirrels amongst bold overlapping leaves and flower sprays, in blue, other colors and some gold. Foot rim with some kiln grit. Condition: both plates have minor rim fritting (bubble burst), one plate with a small rim chip, the other with a short hairline. Dimension: diameter: 24.9 cm, 3.1 cm high.

A large and heavy Chinese cloisonne bowl with gilt rims and wire, enameled at least with nine different colors. Decorated with flower medallions and clouds, the interior with bats around a "shou" character. The outer rim with a ruyi head border. Base with maybe later turquoise contre-email and a Chinese character. Please compare with a similar bowl in the Royal Museum of Edinburgh. Dimension: diameter: 20.7 cm, 9.1 cm high. A gorgeous pair of tiny shoes with shaped heels and upturned toes for a Han Chinese lady with bound feet. Made of silk, embroidered with very fine Peking and satin stitch in gold-wrapped and colorful threads. The tall ankle cuffs decorated with brocaded ribbons. Cotton lining and leather soles. Condition: fine. Little insignificant patina, few brittle fabric areas. Please compare: "Fine Chinese Costume and Textiles from the Linda Wrigglesworth Collection": item no. 103...
