Horn bullet container from the Batak people, Sumatra, Indonesia. With stylized face and delicate ornamental carving. Containing two lead bullets. Fringe on top of its head and attached leather strap. Condition: One stress line (marked on pic) and one scratch, slight wear. Very nice patina. Dimensions: 20 cm long.

RUNDA. -- In the 1930's mainly the European artists Rudolf Bonnet and Walter Spies animated the Balinese carvers and painters to create modern non functional artwork. -- Condition: fine, some brighter parts due to age. He is sitting on a lotus pedestal, his priest garment is decorated with gold lacquer, the sections of skin are left undecorated,. Behind his head a circular metal halo. On the inside of the doors, painted on paper, the left leaf with the patriarch Shandao declaiming Buddhist prayers, the right leaf with the founder of the Jodo-shu sect, named Honen Shonin or Enko Daishi...

A beautiful Mandarin square dating from the early Jiaqing period. A male back buzi with a silver pheasant bird, denoting the fifth civil rank. On dark silk entirely embroidered in Peking knot, blue silk lining. Reference: Ladder to the Clouds, Jackson & Hugus Berkeley 1999, Page 250 - No. 15.032 very similar badge. Condition: good - slightly impure, the back lining with some water stains. Dimensions: 29,2 cm high x 30,5 cm wide.

On brown silk gauze finely embroidered high ranking nobleman's court robe. In polychrome and couched gold threads nine five clawed dragons, one dragon hidden on the underflap of the garment. The mythical beasts chasing for the flaming pearl among clouds, bats, peaches and the buddhist precious things. The bottom of the textile is decorated with waves and stylised rocks. The sleeves worked in pleated dark blue silk, ending in horsehoof cuffs, side-fastening overlapping closure with metal buttons...

Opium smoking set consisting of a tray with handles, a lamp (or burner) and two small dishes. The tray with five compartments, three of them closable with a hardwood lid and bronze knobs in the form of sitting foo lions. The lamp, dishes and the outside of the tray made of gilt copper and with decoration of mille fleur in colored cloisonne enamel. The partition and underside worked in hardwood, resting on four hemispheric feet...

Carpet weight (Mir-I Farsh)in the shape of a muslim dome on a octogonal base. Bidar, Deccan metalwork, alloy in which zinc predominates. Condition: Some wear, some small losses to the base, some silver inlays missing. Dimension: 12,7 cm height, 12,8 cm width. Weight: 744 gram.

A Turkish tobacco pipe with a long wooden shaft. Both ends of the stem swathed with paper and tombak wire, the middle section with red cloth between two pompons. The bone mouth piece kept by a wooden bead. The pipe bowl made of clay, covered by metal wire, decorated with different colored glass beads. The lid entirely worked in metal wire and glass beads attached by a chain to the bowl. Condition: Traces of usage, some beads missing, cloth with holes...

Unsodo, founded 1887, manufactured pattern books with woodblock prints of the highest order for artisans and manufacturers of textiles, lacquer, pottery etc. Printed carefully, some with silver pigments. Condition: Good, front cover with red spot. Dimension: Page size 24,2 x 16,5 cm.

Six different imperial officials hat buttons for the ji guan (festive hat), a hat worn as a part of the ji fu, the less formal style of Qing court costume. Made of Peking glass and gilt metal imitating jewels, mounted in bronze. Coral colored denoting the first rank - coral colored with engraved "shou" character for the second rank - transparent and opaque blue representing the third respectively the fourth rank - opaque white for the sixth rank - plain gilt metal denoting the seventh rank...

An oval domed jade plaque of pale celadon color. Beautifully carved in relief with design of two scholars in a landscape. The reverse side with tiny drilled holes for mounting. Condition: fine. Dimension: 7.1 cm high x 7.9 cm wide, 1.7 cm deep. Weight: 64 g.

A small koro made of porcelain with a splendid celadon glaze, in the style of the famous Chinese Song Longquan tripod censers. The pierced lid in silvered metal with design of clouds. Bottom with signature in cartouche. Condition: fine, minor surface scratches caused by the lid. Dimension: 7.4 cm high, diameter: 8 cm. Weight: 228 g.

Oriental tea pot made of tinned copper with finely chased design of vegetal pattern. The stylized dragon handle riveted to the drop shaped body, holding the domed and pierced lid with a small ball in it. Similar ewers in the Henri Moser Charlottenfels Collection. Condition: fine, few tiny dents. Dimension: 31.5 cm high, weight: 718 g.

A chaozhu made of pierced and enameled silver or silver plated metal filigree beads. 90 small beads with crane design between three large "Buddha's head" beads. Three strings each with 10 dark beads ending in a teardrop bead. The tape which hung down the back with an oblong plaque between a double gourd and a teardrop bead. Dimension: 112 cm long. Weight: 174 gram. Condition: traces of usage: several beads with enamel loss, perhaps some beads missing.

Nargileh or huqqa bowl made of Tophane clay in one piece. The bowl has a pearl rim and stamp mark decorations, some sections are embellished with gold and silver paint. Marked with a round stamp with Persian writing. Condition: several imperfections, pasted piece. Dimension: height: 7 cm, diameter: 6.2 cm, weight: 92 g.
