Three Kalaga panels, pictorial textile hangings once used as adornment outside a house, theater or temple on festive occasions in Burma. Brown ground fabric with appliqué, gold couching and sequins, depicting mythical lions in cartouches. Black fabric lining. Condition: loose threads, partial minor loss to sequins, traces of usage, smaller panel with few tiny holes. Maybe the white roundels were filled with small mirror glass.
