Persian Qalamkar Block-Printed Cotton Cover, c. 1900.
A rectangular cover made of three different block-printed and dyed cotton fabrics. Main textile with boteh made of two parts sewn together. Qalamkar textiles were especially popular in Persia, often imported from India (here called Kalamkari). From a Swiss gentleman's study collection, mainly comprising Persian textiles. Condition: few stains. Dimension: 67 cm x 68 cm.
