| Original Japanese woodblock print triptych by Watanabe Nobukazu (1874 - 1944) showing the departure of the Emperor Great-Admiral at the Shinbashi railroad station, dated Meiji 27 (1894), published by Oseki Iwakichi. The three oban are assembled, fine impression and colors with black highlights (tsuya-dashi). Cf.: Chaikin, Nathan: The Sino-Japanese War (1894 - 1895): The noted Basil Hail Chamberlin collection and a private collection, 1983: plate no. 5 with a very close depiction of the same theme.
