Sino Japanese War Triptych with Naval Battle Scene.

Original Japanese woodblock print triptych by Watanabe Nobukazu (1874 - 1944) showing the battleship Matsushima in the Yellow Sea, dated Meiji 27 (1894), published by Hasegawa Sonokichi. The three oban are assembled, fine impression and colors. Cf.: Diesinger, Gunter: Kriegsbilder aus der Meiji-Zeit, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, 1986: plate no. 33. Condition: binding holes on the left margin (partially inside the printed image), in the center slightly wavy due to former storage. Dimension: 37.3 cm x 71.3 cm.
