A lovely ancient Greek globular pyxis with dark bands surrounding the body and lid. A dot motif, in which could possibly represent a floral decoration surrounds the body. Misfiring has caused a portion of the vase to turn reddish orange. Intact with good mineral deposits and root markings inside. Circa 550-525 B.C. Measures 3.5 inches high.

Lovely Haida horn spoon having a carved handle in totemic form with a long beaked bird head at the top, toothy zoomorphic bear head, in the center, and an eagle head at the bottom. Well carved with curved ladle spoon at base. A very minor tiny flake on the spoon edge, otherwise intact and in excellent condition. Measures 7 3/8” in length. Dates to the 1800's and from an American collection.

ANCIENT APULIAN GNATHIAN-WARE BOTTLE

ATTRIBUTED TO THE ROSE PAINTER

CIRCA 340-320 B.C.

Beautiful bottle from Gnathia attributed to the Rose Painter. Done in the classic Gnathia style with large bands of ivy garlands, dotted ovolo, filled dots and rays. Painted in red,white and yellow highlights.

The central figure shows imagery of a swan, an iconographic identifier of Aphrodite. Measures 6 1/4 inches in height.

Large two-tone Colima redware dog having a rear tail spout, pointy snout and perked ears. Has incised mouth and eyes, black painted mask over the eyes. Plump belly decorated with a large red circular spot on both sides of the stomach. Scattered mineral deposits and root marks. Has a minor stable hairline on right side of neck, otherwise intact. Large seated dwarf-pataikos with exaggerated phallus. He is naked, with both hands supporting his enlarged penis which is draped around his shoulders. Lovely ancient impasto ware Etruscan Kantharoid vase with twin handles and fluted body. Three clustered bronze appliqués are impressed on both sides of the body just above the protruding rotellae. Bronze appliqués are also present on top of the knobbed portion of the handles. A roulette meander surrounds the vessel with incised detailed. Dates to circa the 7th century BC and measures 5.25 inches in width. Vessel has some eroded areas as seen in photo, however very stable.

Exquisite ancient Etruscan Bird askos from Tarquinia or Vulci. Has a large eye created by a painted circle and central dot with a feathered head and neck; head slightly tilted to the right. Vertical filing spout with flared rim set to the rear next to the extended “feathered” tail, the black painted flanged handled extends from the neck of the bird to the base of the spout. Here you find a lovely ancient Attic red-figure pottery askos of the Kerch group of vases. Dates to approx 340-330 BC. Has a swan on one side of the body and a griffin on the other, both of which are symbolic in Greek mythology. High arching handles with a wide spout.
