Here you find a very fine Vicus orangeware pottery figural vessel, depicting a bound and kneeling prisoner. This figure has the typical hook nose and large eyes found in much of the vicus pottery. Also has a small rear spout and bridge handle with mineral deposits on much of the surfaces. Dates to circa 100 BC and measures 7.75 inches in height. Here you find an Ancient Jama Coaque of an old Shawman. This figure dates to approx 350 BC. Ceramic figurines and vessels in this shape of human form are representative of the Jama Coaque culture. It developed around the San Isidoro sector in the North of the Manabi province in Ecuador. It is well preserved with growth deposits however there are some losses. Lovely mouldmade lapm made of red clay with red slip. Convex lower part, flat top and depressed disk with the image of a Kantharos and vine. Channel running between the disk and nozzle. There are circles interchanged with squares on the shoulder and a tongue style handle at rear. Only one fill hole present and in great condition. Measures 5.5 inches in length.

Here you find a mouldmade ancient oil lamp. Convex lower part and flat top. In concave disk, a vertical figure of a bird most likely a dove. There is a channel running from the rim to the top of the flat nozzle. On the shoulder we find a vine like pattern. Slight carbon traces and growth deposits still present. Measures 6 inches in length.

Here you find a little gem of antiquity. A miniature ancient Greek oil lamp from circa the 2nd century B.C. Made of gray clay and was most likely a votive. It has a lovely head applique adorning the front (perhaps the image of Silenus or a theater mask).The lug style handles are characteristic of Hellenistic oil lamps. In good condition said for missing handle. Measure 2 inches in length.

Here you find an Ancient Egypt stone alabastron in a teardrop shape, two delicate lug handles still present. However the rim is partially damaged. Dates from the Early Dynastic period and in good condition with mineral deposits both on the inside and outside. Nice colour showing, however not as brilliant as the other examples from this collection. Measures 5.2cm in height.

Here you find a well provenanced Ancient Egyptian Wood Falcon from the Ptolemaic Period, 305-30 BC. Polychromed gesso on wood and intact save for some gesso loss as seen in photo. Eyes and beak are delineated with black pigment and most of the body done in a red and white. Measures 16 cm in length.

Here you find an very large Moche IV-V figural vessel in the form of a drum. It depicts a stylized feline head painted on the side representing the the spirit of the drum. This is an extremely rare piece of Etruscan pottery. Measuring 9 inches tall with a rich black patina. Tendrils painted in orange around the body, shoulder and spout area. In absolutely perfect condition said for some encrustation on the surface of the vessel and some misfiring at the base. This ancient ceramic dates to approximately 600 B.C. and is from the ancient Etruscan city of Veio.

A lovely Inca double-chambered bridge vessel from Peru, ca. 1300 – 1500 AD. It is 8” long, 6-3/4” high and has an adorable bird adorned, perched atop one spout. Painted overall in orange and white, with nice lattice work on the bridge and clear tone on the built-in whistle.
