Here you find a lovely elegant Black-figure lekythos. The shoulder of the vase is decorated in a scrolling ivy pattern. Very characteristic on Greek lekythi. A nice burgundy band surrounds the tip of the rim and lower portion of the body of the vase. Two standing hoplites done in silhouette surround a horse riding warrior. An ancient Chimu-Inca silver Pectoral from Peru. Dates to circa 1400 - 1500 AD. It consists of 26 silver disks and all ranging from 1” to 2” in diameter. Each silver disc is perforated and attached onto a black cloth and framed. The frame measures 19" x 21-1/2" and would make a great addition to any collection or room. Silver and Gold was plundered by the Spanish Conquistadors therefore making these surviving pieces ever more valuable.

ANCIENT MESSAPIAN KANTHAROS

CIRCA 400 B.C.

Beautiful and elegant pottery kantharos from the Messapian Greek tribes of Southern Italy. Has an ivy scroll around the neck of the vessel and lovely hook design across the body. Rays decorate the outer high arching handles. Intact said for a small hairline where one handle connects to rim (as seen in photo). Measures 6.5 inches in height.

Provenance: Ex. Gebhard and Johannes Hager. Exhibited at the Stadtmuseum Ottweiler.

Beautiful bottle from Gnathia attributed to the Rose Painter. Done in the classic Gnathia style with large bands of ivy garlands, dotted ovolo, filled dots and rays. Painted in red,white and yellow highlights.

The central figure shows imagery of a swan, an iconographic identifier of Aphrodite. Measures 6 1/4 inches in height.

Here you find a lovely ancient ceramic lekythos from Greece. It has a tall slender body sitting on a pedestal foot, with sharp angled shoulder with painted ray pattern on a thin neck. The rim is flared with a small handle but all intact.
