Material: light brown stone

Technique: carved, pierced lengthwise.

Condition: areas of wear on both top and bottom, with much of Clypeus worn away. There are losses to the lightly etched borderline surrounding the inscription, apparently from wear...

Material/colour: steatite with blue-green glaze

Technique: stone carving; ceramic glaze; pierced longitudinally

Condition: glaze slightly discoloured in places, crackled, with chip from bottom edge.

Date: Middle Kingdom – Second Intermediate Period, possibly Third Intermediate Period...

Small lentoid bead with baboon

Measurement: 1.1 x .8 x 2.5 cm

Material/colour: cream-coloured glazed steatite.

Technique: carved stone; pierced longitudinally.

Condition: crackling of glaze on top; small chip from edge near paddle.

Condition: either carving of the glyphs or drilling of the hole for suspension lead to holes opening up in bottom of glyphs.

Material/colour: Glazed steatite. Beige bead with turquoise blue pigment remaining in pattern on reverse.

Condition: Back is worn and chipped, but still shows signs of the original bright blue glaze...

Material/colour: white steatite, no evidence of glaze

Technique: stone carving, drilled for suspension; no decoration on obverse.

Condition: a crack has developed but does not threaten the integrity of the piece...
