TWO ANCIENT EGYPTIAN TERRACOTTA HEADS

LATE PERIOD TO PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 664-30 B.C.

Two small terracotta heads of Harpokrates, one wearing an Atef crown and the other wearing the "youthful" customary sidelock. Both holding forefingers to their mouths and one holding the club of Herakles.

Harpokrates was the son of Osiris and Isis and was born in the papyrus marshes of Chemmis in the northern Delta...

EGYPTIAN TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF HARPOKRATES

LATE PERIOD TO PTOLEMAIC PERIOD, 664-30 B.C

Here you find a lovely terracotta figure of the god Harpocrates, wearing the crown of Upper and Lower Egypt. This figure also has his left hand in a pot, like the cornucopia a symbol of abundance. These terracotta clay figures were often placed in temples as votive offerings...

Here you find a complete set of 4 sons of Horus from mummy wrappings. This set would have been sewn on the wrapping or threaded on a net of beads, placed on the mummy. Dates to approx the Third Intermediate Period, 1079-800 BC. All with holes for thread, so that they could be sewn onto the bandages of the mummy...

A lovely ancient Greek globular pyxis with dark bands surrounding the body and lid. A dot motif, in which could possibly represent a floral decoration surrounds the body. Misfiring has caused a portion of the vase to turn reddish orange. Intact with good mineral deposits and root markings inside. Circa 550-525 B.C. Measures 3.5 inches high.

Ancient Egypt alabastron made certainly by a master craftsman. With its perfect teardrop shape, two delicate lug handles, and partially flared rim, this alabastron demonstrates Egyptian mastery of shaping stone! From the Early Dynastic period and in excellent condition save for the damage to the rim. Wonderful colour showing on this piece. Measures 5.8cm in height.

ANCIENT EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE RELIEF

CIRCA LATE PERIOD

Here you find a beautiful limestone relief from the collection of Gustave Jéquier. This lovely limestone relief shows the head of Ibis headed Thoth wearing the lunar crescent on his head. On his left we see Ptah or scribe wearing a skull cap with ureaus. Over the head of Ptah/scribe we see what appears to be a large moon. This pieces measures approx 9.25" inches x 8.75" inches and was split in two however now mended...

Rare red-figured Globular Apulian lidded pyxis, portraying Nike. The double winged Nike is adorned with a radiate stephane and ribboned saccos , white beaded necklace and earrings. The lid is set on a tiered foot and is decorated with an olive branch (symbol of victory) thus the association with the goddess Nike. This vessel has vivid colour, with intact white and yellow pigment surrounding much of the lid...

Lovely miniature Apulian Lekythos ca. 350 B.C with ray patterns on the neck, palmette on the side and a red-figured "Lady-of-Fashion" on the base. This Lekythos is in an exceptional state of preservation with only a small hairline stress fracture on the handle. This miniature Lekythos is well proportioned and has been flawlessly constructed. Height: 3 ¼ inches.

Elegant little antiquity from Magna Graecia. This Apulian mug dates to approx. ca. 350 B.C. Has a fine black glaze and is in great condition, said for some rubbing on the lip. Perhaps used as a votive or a child's toy. Height 3 inches.

This appears to be an egyptian bronze crown fragment with one large uraeus cobra and one cow horn remaining. There seem to be 10 smaller uraei surrounding the main mount. Measures 4.25 inches in height and dates to the Late Period. May be from a large figure or actual crown.
