Here you find a lovely ancient Attic red-figure pottery askos of the Kerch group of vases. Dates to approx 340-330 BC. Has a swan on one side of the body and a griffin on the other, both of which are symbolic in Greek mythology. High arching handles with a wide spout. Some surface rubbing on glaze and hairline underneath and on the bridge of the handle. Measures 12.3 cm in length. Provenance: Swiss private collection from 1978 |
