An exquisite Lambayeque double chambered whistling vessel from Peru, ca. 700 - 1200 AD. Depicting an erotic scene, featuring a couple engaged in a sexual act. Both figures are superbly molded and both wearing matching head gear and painted faces in red. The male genitalia and the women’s breasts are clearly visible, both also wearing ear plugs. The vessel has a double cube body connected by a lower tube and trap bridge handle which terminates at the rear of the male figures back. The slender strap handle also conceals a whistle. This vessel is painted in white slip with geometric decorations contained within the linear patterns. Measuring 6.5 inches high by 7.5 inches long and in an excellent state of preservation.
