| Another well constructed mouldmade ancient Roman oil lamp. Made of red clay and slip or 'red slip" these lamps were mostly produced in North Africa (most likely Tunisia) during the 4th century. This style was very popular and produced throughout the Mediterranean. A well preserved oil lamp with a theater mask on the right side and person in profile on the left. Has a filing hole near the handle and vent hole near the large conical wick-hole. Nice spiral design is found around the shoulder of the lamp. Has as small chip as seen in the photo just above the wick-hole. Measures 5.2 inches in length | ||
