From the George Estate, the back of each coin has been defaced and engraved in Victorian script with names or initials of family members: Emma, ELH, AFJ, Mother, Grace Ruby Lyman, Father, CAL, HGN, Arthur, clasp CMG. A note written in an elderly hand reads "Auntie's bracelet. Each coin has the initials of a member of the family. Cannot be worn because of engraving our U.S. coins." is included.
