This is a stunning Victorian ladies’ sterling silver evening purse, by R. Blackinton & Co., ca. 1880, the exterior, monogrammed "FEJ" and decorated all over with beautiful scrolling flowers even has a compartment with a marked sterling pencil; the gold-washed interior with hinged mirror has 4 compartments including one with a currency clip and ivory writing tablet; makers mark and Sterling mark. Condition: excellent: clasp working, chain intact, no dents or scratches, mirror intact but somewhat worn. Measurement: purse: 3 5/8 in wide x 2 5/8 in thick and 6 3/8 in long w/o chain; 10 in long with chain.
