Kabuto signed Jôshu ju Saotome Iesada.
This armor has been submitted to the Nihon Katchu Bugu Kenkyu Hozan KaiAssociation for the Japanese Armor)and obtained the formal grade of Koshu Tokubetsu Kicho (particularly special item). Even if the "red devils" of Ii naomasa are more famous, the first clan who dressed his warriors with red armors had been the Takeda. With a darker red lacquer, it is likely that the samurai who owned this suit was somehow related to this clan. iesada is the fourth master of the Saotome school and is considered one of the best armorers of this school. According to the classification used by the Myochin, he belongs to the first 10% of best smiths, with the title of Jo Jo I (excellent). Two armorers with the same name probably existed, but tho other one signed with his name only, leaving out "Jôshu".
