This spectacular antique jewel is an exceptional find in that the chain is original. Unless integral to the piece, chains tend to vanish, so most slide-on lavalieres have been separated from theirs for decades. Besides being wholly intact, this wonderful necklace is distinguished by its dramatically Art Deco design - rather like a target or a spiderweb - and by the generous 1 1/2" length of the diamond-set pendant. This isn't one of those teensy lavalieres you have to use a magnifying glass to notice! From a Texas estate, both lavaliere and 17" chain are marked 10k and in super condition. Probable dating is early 1920s, based on the Edwardian delicacy of construction.
