Dating from the Late Victorian era, circa 1900, this exquisite antique lavaliere of gilded brass retains its original chain. Its ornate filigree drop has pretty green enamel accents and is set with a gorgeous art glass cabochon. The stone, probably Bohemian or Peking glass, simulates jade. The 19" chain is comprised of fancy links, all hand-soldered. Total length is 21 1/2".
In wonderful condition, the necklace's cabochon shows no chips or cracks whatever. Along the very edges of the enameling, slight wear can be seen in a spot or two, but only under a jeweler's loupe; this is very minor and consistent with the age of the piece, as is its rich patina.
