Positively screaming art Deco, this spectacular lapel, hat or jabot pin paved with rhinestones is almost 3 inches long, including its triangular screw-on clutch. Its beaded edges and accents among the vivid stones add extra detail and flash to the piece.
So why's it so cheap? The back. It takes high magnification to notice more than a little loss of gilding on the front, but the back has almost none left. This will never be seen when worn, so the pin remains presentable -- and a mavelous bargain, if you can make allowances for its little secret. Probable dating would be 1920s and provenance is an East Coast estate.
