"Edward Hopper 1882 - 1967: Transformation of the Real" was issued in 1993 by the outstanding German publishing firm, Benedikt Taschen. Printed in Cologne, it features an enormous number of color plates fine enough to frame, a few black and white illustrations and an intelligent, comprehensive overview of the artist's work by Rolf Gunter Renner (translated by Michael Hulse). This appears to be the first English edition and was acquired in the U.K.
The book is part of Taschen's Basic Art Series, published in large softcover format. Length is 96 pages, including a chronology, and size is about 9 by 11.75 inches (230 by 188 mm). Corners show very slight shelf wear and there's a bit of sunning at the top of the back cover, but overall condition is fantastically good. It seems to have barely been opened!
