This very exotic ring from Sicily features a highly prismic stone of faceted ebony glass -- most likely obsidian, a natural volcanic glass. The mounting, an ornate filigree of silvery metal, will fit anyone, since the back of the shank has been cut or was formed that way. Of course it can be easily sized to your finger.
Probable dating would be 1950s, when dramatically large costume rings became popular. It has the look of a "poison ring" but doesn't open.
