Three Dutch little sterling silver spoons, mid 19th century, all in Baroque style, all with pseudo 17th or 18th century hallmarks. Spoon ends with cast figures of saints or prophets. Many silversmiths in Holland went on working in the old style of the Dutch Golden Age, and this kind of spoon was very much liked during the first half of the 19th century. Three more spoons without ends to go with the first three (cf. the last photo). Length "4 – 4 ½ / 10,5 – 11 cm. Condition: fine.

A French carving set; knife and fork with silver handles, beautifully engraved and crafted. Made in Paris in the 1880’s, in the classicist Louis XVI style so much “en vogue” at the time. The fork made of ivory or bone, the sharp steel blade of the knife marked Paris. Minerva head hall mark and a maker’s mark of a bird, possibly, and E. Length of knife "13 ¼ / 33,5 cm. Condition: the little knob of the fork seems to be replaced, otherwise fine.

A Russian silver walking stick handle with niello scroll work. The end of the handle with engraved initials of the original owner, whereas the shield within the ornamented design has been left blank. Cyrillic lettering in the design forms the Russian word for Souvenir or In Remembrance. 1896 – 1908 assayers “84” mark for Liba Oleksa, Kiev and maker’s mark YC. Length: " 4 ¾ / 12,2 cm. A very pretty ladies pocket watch, made in Switzerland, antique. The face is heart shaped, decorated in silver and gilt, the case all over finely engraved with floral ornaments. On the back are traces of enamel. The movement marked SWISSMADE. Case and cuvette both numbered 32086 over 5 and stamped 925, with London import marks for 1908, the cuvette also GS, initials that are part of the assay mark. Diameter "1 ¼ / 3,3 cm. Condition: at present it does not run.

A very small cast iron wall plaque, a miniature version of the decorative reliefs sometimes preserved from old German cast iron ovens. The details of this casting are extremely fine. The scene is of a forest road with coal wagons being pulled by horses, followed by a man with a whip. In the foreground another man (most probably the owner of the woods) sits in a laid-back position, smoking his pipe. Four English silver spoons, the shafts with little coffee beans made of dark brown wood. The “bean end” design appeared already in the late 1800’s, in the Arts and Crafts period. There are coffee pots and other coffee utensils related to Christopher Dresser with coffee beans on (like the pots in pic 1), but it has not yet been proved that he was behind the idea of using the coffee bean as a design motif.
