Lovely cup and saucer, signed Fischer Vilmos, Koloswar. Exquisite decoration where Japanese influence, typical of the period (1880’s), can be traced in the paper-like reserves with raised enameled flowers against a brown background of smaller flowers and swirls. The Fischer porcelain manufacture at Herend was purveyor to the Habsburg court and Vilmos or Wilhelm was responsible for the painting department. Koloswar or Klausenburg is situated in present Romania...

Condition: some wear to the gilt of the handles.
