A blue and white tea bowl and two saucer bowls with scalloped edges and decoration of seascapes and borders. In the last decades of the Qianlong period (1735-95) England had started to print their porcelain with the Chinese patterns so much in vogue at the time, a much cheaper method than painting. The Chinese response was meticulous hand painting of the same detailed borders and sceneries, like in these export pieces. Four tea bowls and three saucer bowls with scalloped edges, decorated with landscapes and wanderers within borders. Gilt edges and lines have been added in Europe and all seven pieces are marked with the same signature in gilt, W. Qianlong period (1736-95). Height of the tea bowls "2/ 5 cm and diameter of saucer bowls "5/ 12,5 cm. Condition: nick to foot rim of one bowl and some roughness around the border, saucers with hairlines and a nick to one of them (cf. pictures).

A Chinese dish, enameled in Imari colours and gold with a fenced garden, peony and the auspicious pak choy plant. First decades of Qianlong (1736-95) or earlier. Diameter "9/ 22,5 cm and height "1½/ 4 cm. Condition: glaze wear, hairline and rim frits, star crack to the back (cf. pictures).

A small lidded jar or bowl, Kangxi period, c 1700. Clobbered in iron red, green, black and gilt over the original under-glaze blue decoration, for the European (Dutch?) market. The base with an “Asian” seal mark in iron red. Height, including lid "2¾/ 7 cm. Condition: the lid with some rubbing to the gilt, otherwise fine.
