Four little red-lacquered Kamakura-bori dishes with a decorative carving of a dove. All with Hanko stamp to the back. Diameter "6 ¼ / 16.3 cm. Condition: a few minimal scratch marks.

A carved and dark red lacquered serving tray, depicting Bog Arum (Calla Palustris) with its cinnabar red berries emerging from the elongated leaves. Made in Kamakura, the back with a stamped seal mark. Diameter "10 ¾/ 27.5 cm. Condition: some wear and scratch marks (cf. pics).

A carved and dark red lacquered oval tea tray with cherry blossom in cinnabar red and yellow-white. Made in Kamakura, the back with a stamped seal mark. Width "17/ 43 cm. Condition: minimal wear.

Three cups and saucer trays by Noritake, Japan, mid 50’s. Saucers shaped like water lily leaves – a modernist design also reminding of the painter’s palette shape so much in vogue in the 50’s in ceramics, jewelry, teak wood and more. The cups to fit at one side, in order to allow for a sandwich or some biscuits. The back with the N and ribbon mark in use from 1953. Width of saucers "9 ½ / 24 cm, height of cups "2 2/3 / 6.8 cm. Condition: fine.

A small cloisonné dish with floral design from Inaba, well-known Japanese enameling company. C 1940’s to 50’s, signed. Diameter "5/ 12,5 cm. Condition: fine.

A pair of Chinese tea trays, enamel on copper. Decoration of lotus and borders in Jiaqing style and possibly of the period. Width "3¾/ 9,6 cm. Condition: fine.

Japanese vase of convex shape, Totai decoration of a bird and a butterfly among leaves and berry bushes. The motif created by thin metal threads is filled in with colored lacquer and polished. The brown lacquer background is carved as to resemble tree bark (totai). This complicated technique for decoration on porcelain was in use in Japan in the 1920’s and 30’s.The base with old paper label, indistinct letters in blue and the word “Lacquer”. Height "7½/ 19,2 cm...

An inside painted Chinese glass snuff bottle, early 20th century, to one side a pagoda in a mountainous landscape, to the other cherry blossom and a red jay bird. Jade stopper and bone spoon. Height "3¼/ 8,3 cm. Condition: fine.

Figurine of Cai Shen, God of Prosperity, with his sceptre, c 1930 or possibly 1944. Enameled in Famille Rose colours, the face left unglazed but painted. Impressed Chinese lettering to the base, and 44. Height "5 ½/ 14 cm. Condition: fine.

Japanese Banko marbleware teapots, 1930’s. Enamelled decoration of flowers – irises and maple leaves to one pot. Unmarked. Height "3 ½/ 8,5 cm, width from spout to handle "6/ 15 cm. Together with a similar miniature pot (no lid), marked, height "1½/ 4 cm. The exterior unglazed, the insides glazed. Both pieces very thinly potted, translucent to the light, making all the different shades of clay visible. Condition: fine.

Japanese cigarette case, damascened with silver and gold on steel, c 1930's. Decoration in Komai style of a temple gate, pagodas and Mt Fuji. The back with a Fukui mark under butterfly and 24K. In addition two marks resembling stylized birds’ wings on a sgraffito ground. Width "3 ¾ / 9,2 cm, height "3 ¼ / 8,2 cm. Condition: some wear to the black surface, otherwise fine (cf pics).

Vintage – 1920’s? – Japanese folding fan made of gilt paper with sumi-e, ink painted decoration of a mountainous landscape to the exterior, the interior with a long text – a love poem? Length "11½/ 29,5 cm. Condition: fine.

Japanese Tsugaru / Wakasa lacquer box and six coasters, early 20th century lacquer work with a speckled and metallic surface, an old Honshu speciality. The pattern is rhombic, the lid of the box gold or bronze coloured, the coasters a reddish brown. The back of the coasters is black and slightly structured. Diameter of coasters "3 ¼ / 9.5 cm and of box "5 / 12.5 cm. Condition: small loss of lacquer to the rim of the lid, otherwise fine.

A decorative black lacquer box by the Ryukyu Lacquer Ware Company, c 1920. The inside red, the knobbed lid with a carved lacquer banana plant - flowers, fruit and leaves - in colours. Stamped company mark. Diameter "3¾/ 9,7 cm. Condition: small nick to the rim of box and lid (cf. picture).

Bottle vase or sake bottle by Fukagawa, early 20th century. Under-glaze decoration of a carp, Koi, and stormy waves. Signed with Fuji mark. Height "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: fine.

A pair of Japanese Kutani sake cups with scalloped rims and enameled decoration of Phoenix birds, Paulownia leaves and the Tokugawa mon or crest, the interior with auspicious symbols. The Tokugawa clan reigned Japan as Shoguns from 1603 to 1867. Kutani Fuku (happiness)mark in iron red, a mark in use during the Tokugawa period. Height "1 2/3 / 4.2 cm. Condition: each with a short hairline from the rim.
