Ivo De Santis, Gli Etruschi, 1960s, Italy: Royal Guardsman. De Santis’s massive, chubby and humorous clay figurines were unmarked, but they are nevertheless easy to recognize. Gli Etruschi was the name of his studio in Florence. Most part of De Santis’s production seems to have been exported to the US. The little soldier, however, was found in Sweden. Height "6 / 15 cm. Condition: fine.

Gli Etruschi was the name of his studio in Florence. Most part of De Santis’s production seems to have been exported to the US. The cow and the bull, however, were both found in Sweden. Height of both "3 1/3 / 8.5 cm. Condition: fine.

A wall plaque with dancing putti and flower garlands, possibly depicting Spring in a suite of the four seasons. Plaster, patinated and polished to look like terracotta, possibly English around 1800, likely a Grand Tour souvenir. Unmarked, the back with two copper rings for hanging. Width "11/ 28 and height "5 ½ / 14 cm. Condition: a few glaze flakes to the left side (cf. pics).

Three small dishes in a soft leaflike shape, in the white and very thinly glazed. From the Revernay pottery (founded in a village with that name around 1900 and moved to Vallauris in southern France after WWII). Many avantgarde ceramists who worked in modernist style – one of them being Picasso – gathered in Vallauris in the 50s and 60s. Width "3 / 7.5 cm. Condition: rim frits to one dish (cf. pics).

A small bud vase, enamel on copper, France c 1900, possibly Limoges. Decoration of a branch of thistles in Japonisme style over a guilloché patterned ground, the interior a brilliant blue. Height "2 ¼ / 6 cm. Condition: some wear around mouth rim and base (cf. pics).

Two double-handled cake plates with natural flowers surrounded by a border in cobalt blue, cream and gilt. Unmarked, c 1830 and probably by Ridgway. Width "9 ¼ and 9 ¾ / 23.5 and 24.5 cm respectively. Condition: a firing crack to one plate visible from behind, otherwise fine.

A pair of Staffordshire soup plates, transfer printed in blue in the Willow pattern, c 1820 or somewhat earlier, no foot rims and probably Spode. Both pearlware, with variation in thickness and pattern. Diameter "9 ¼ / 23.5 and 24 cm, height of both "1 ½ / 4 cm. Condition: the smaller plate with a nick to the rim (cf. pics).

Two beautiful and very thinly potted bowls by Sven Hofverberg in his experimental studio in south Sweden. One gold glazed to the interior, the other with an iridescent interior glaze in red and dark blue. The exterior of both with incised striations. The incisions of the smaller bowl are iridescent. The works of Hofverberg (1923-1998) always demonstrate his aim for perfection and concern for the glazes. The gold bowl is unmarked, the smaller bowl with incised SH. Diameter: 4 ½"/ 11 and 3 ½" /...

Ten creamware dinner plates, transfer printed in puce with a cottage, a farmboy and cattle within a lace border, the outer rim with hand painted vine leaves, also in puce (one vine wreath partly in orange). From Herculaneum in Liverpool c 1810, all with the impressed mark of the pottery as a straight line, in the style of Wedgwood, the name of the pottery also competing with Wedgwood’s Etruria. Diameter "10 / 25.5 cm. Condition: all fine except for a hairline to one of the plates.

Five watchful dogs – setters, dachshunds and a collie – cast in brass on an Art Nouveau pen tray. Around 1910, unmarked, probably English. Length "7 1/3 / 18.7 cm. Condition: natural wear, consistent with use, the underside still with original gilding.

Beautiful handkerchief or fazzoletto bowl with white filigree and twisted green rods, the green surrounded by glittering aventurine strands. Murano, c 1960, unmarked but probably by the Fratelli Toso glassworks. Height "5 / 12.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Red and yellow small “Geode” bowl in Sommerso technique, and in the beloved irregularly triangular shape of the 1950s. Height "2/ 5 cm, width appr. "3 ½ / 9 cm. Condition: normal wear around the cut and polished base.

A pair of pressed glass beakers, Victorian, mid19th century. Blue, tending towards turquoise and very finely modeled, the bases with foliate rims. Height "3 ½ / 9 cm. Condition: fine.

A “Seaweed” bowl by Vicke Lindstrand (1904 – 1983). The Seaweed series with its streaks of mainly green and black uses the variation of Graal glass called Mykene, developed by V.L. while he was still working for Orrefors in the 1930s. Marked Kosta LH 1107. Width "5 ¼ / 13 cm, height "2 ½ / 6.5 cm. Condition: fine.

Large blue and white teacup of ogee shape and saucer bowl, in the Fitzhugh pattern. Chinese export porcelain from the early years of the 19th century, c 1810-20. Diameter of saucer "6 ¼ / 16 cm and of cup "4 ½ / 11 cm. Condition: the cup with two short hairlines and a nick to the mouth rim.

Victorian hinged bracelet made by Bernhard Hertz. Surprisingly modern design of two rope ends, one polished and gilt, the other appears to be twisted. The surface of the bracelet is matted, satinized. BH was a well-known jewelry designer working in Copenhagen and in Stockholm at the turn of the century 1900. Signed BH. Silver standard marks 826 and 13 1/3 = Norwegian silver standard, whereas the small three crowns mark is for Sweden (during the 19th century Sweden and Norway were united) and L6 ...

A small Chinese teapot, pumpkin shaped and ribbed. Decoration of garden rocks and flowers in underglaze blue, overglaze red and gilt. Late Kangxi / early 18th century. Width / 14.5 cm, height including lid "4/ 10 cm, width "5 ¾ / 14.5 cm. Condition: some glaze flakes to the lid and firing cracks to the knob (cf. pics).

Yellow Shell, part tea service: a slop bowl and a dish, three cups and two saucers. This very popular folk art or naïve style pattern was produced in more than one Staffordshire kiln in the early 19th century, among them Ridgway & Sons and Machin. The pattern number used by Machin was 208, a number that can be seen on the back of the slop bowl. The diameter of the slop bowl is "6/ 15,5 cm and of the saucers appr.
