Four English silver spoons, the shafts with little coffee beans made of dark brown wood. The “bean end” design appeared already in the late 1800’s, in the Arts and Crafts period. There are coffee pots and other coffee utensils related to Christopher Dresser with coffee beans on (like the pots in pic 1), but it has not yet been proved that he was behind the idea of using the coffee bean as a design motif. A beautiful pair of scissor shaped sugar nips or tongs, with shell bowls. Silver, probably Irish, Rococo style, late 18th century. Unmarked, like most early sugar nips. Width: "6 ¼/ 16 cm. Condition: the joint is somewhat unsteady, and apparently these sugar nips have not been restored.

A pair of English cast and silver gilt salt spoons, in the style of Paul Storr. Both made in London, one by George Adams, 1864, the other signed WT, 1874. Shell-shaped bowls with finely punched surface, the ends with diminutive engraved initials. Small - length "4 ½ / 11 cm - but massive, these spoons weigh almost 30 grams each. Condition: fine.
