A blue and white transfer printed plate with the Boy on a Buffalo pattern - one of the first Chinese patterns to be "translated" by the English potteries and first used by Spode c 1795, soon also by other potters. The specific border used for this pattern adapts itself well to the lobed shape of the rim. Around 1800, unmarked, possibly Spode. Diam: "8 ¾ / 22 cm. Condition: fine.

A cylindrical cup and saucer from the Amstel factory, decorated in the style of Nicolas Wicart (1748-1815) with cottage people in a landscape and with gilt borders. The Amstel factory was working 1784-1814, and the underglaze blue mark "Amstel" on this cup and saucer was used up till 1809. Height: "2 1/2 / 6,5 cm, diam. of saucer "5 ¼ / 13,5 cm. Condition: crack and restoration to the cup and the saucer has a restored flake, as seen in pictures.
