Elegant 1950’s lipstick holder and cover, sterling silver. Simple, “functionalist” design with stripes to holder and cover helps keeping the two parts joined together safely. Hallmarks: 925 to the holder and makers mark TL (?), to the cover a Swedish importation mark: three crowns and S. Ready for use; a new lipstick can be inserted and then maneuvered by turning the holder. Length: "2/ 5 cm, weight 28 grams. Condition: fine

A footed bowl and a spherical vase by Gunnar Nylund for Nymölle, Denmark, c 1960. Terracotta coloured and dark brown stoneware, chamotted. Both pieces with yellow-glazed interiors. GN (1904-1997), famous for his work with various Swedish and Danish ceramic and glass manufacturers was the artistic director of the pottery in Nymölle c 1960. A large and absolutely incredible pipe ashtray with cork tapper, Italian, dating from the 1950’s. Made of pottery and covered all over with gilt leather, beautifully patinated. Designed as a bird’s head, faintly resembling the Egyptian god Thoth. The gilt leather with impressed modernist non-figurative decoration, intended to look Egyptian or African in style. Unsigned. An English Bursley Ware bowl by Charlotte Rhead, 1920's, of square shape. Slip-glaze decoration of the Carnations pattern in blue and gilt on off-white, marbled ground. Factory mark and TL 40 = pattern number and the mark of the painter who applied the relief glaze colour, Mary Powell. Height: "2 ¼ / 6 cm, width (diagonally): "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.
