| Charming cup and saucer from Limbach, Germany, 18th century. Creamy white glaze and iron-red decoration over the glaze of small children, putti, engaged in fishing and chatting. Mark on cup and saucer of crossed under-glaze blue L’s and a star. The Limbach porcelain manufacture in Thuringia, c 1772 – 1787 chose this mark as a competitive marketing tool, resembling the crossed swords of Meissen. Diameter of saucer: "4 ¾ / 12,2 cm, height of cup "1 ¾ / 4,5 cm. A 4 mm scratch mark to the right of the small angler’s fishing rod (cf. photo). | ||
