| Beautiful cup and saucer with shape and decoration in the English Rococo revival style, by Jacob Petit in Fontainebleau, France, c 1840. Saucer and exterior of the cup in a quite simple and discreet design in pale turquoise and gilt, the interior of the cup lavishly decorated with roses and rocaille ornamentation in enamel colours and gilt. Condition: some wear to the gilt borders and a few negligible nicks to the inner side of the foot rim (cf. photo). Painted under-glaze blue mark J P. Height of cup and saucer "2 ¼ / 6 cm, diameter of cup "4/ 10 cm. | ||
