A pair of custard cups, syllabubs, ice cream cups or pots de crème. From Guérhard & Dihl, Paris, in the cornflower (barbeaux) pattern, a decoration much preferred by Marie Antoinette. Some of the other French manufacturers also produced pieces in this pattern, but it became the specialty of Guérhard et Dihl. Stamped mark in red: Mf (manufacture) de Guérhard et Dihl (à Paris) for the post-revolutionary years just after 1792. Height, lids included "3½/ 9 cm. Condition: a minimal nick to the rim of one cup (cf. photo), otherwise fine.
