An Incamiciato overlay or cased glass vase by Venini. The Incamiciati came in various models and were made of white glass – lattimo or milk glass – covered by a layer of coloured and transparent glass. The name actually means “dressed in a shirt” and the Incamiciato range was designed around 1932 when Tomaso Buzzi was the artistic leader of the Venini glassworks. The model represents the perfect pear shape, first achieved by the Chinese in their porcelain wine bottles, Yuchunping. A special range within the Incamiciati were also Carlo Scarpa’s Cinese pieces. They were inspired by Chinese classic shapes but they all lack the white border seen on the Buzzi vase. Once probably equipped with a paper label, unmarked. Height "6/ 15,5 cm. Condition: fine.
