Syllabub or custard cup (or pot de crème) in the shape of a bud or a fruit within relief moulded, stylized scale leaves. The lid modelled as a small Mandarin cap. Decorated with European style flowers and gilt borders. Late Qianlong. Cf Swedish publications Gyllenswärd (1977) p. 133 and Wirgin (1998) p. 19, where the same border is depicted and dated to 1784, ordered for the Swedish King. The border closest to the knob of the lid has a neoclassical, "fasces" motif. Height (including lid): 4"/10,5 cm. Condition: there is a rim chip to the pot and rim chips to the lid as seen on photos.
