| This porcelain vase was made by Okura Toen of Japan. It is one of four designs they produced in limited quantities for the Franklin Mint, over four consecutive years. Each design represents one of four plants (orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum and plum blossom), known as “The Four Gentlemen” or “The Four Noble Ones” depicted in traditional Asian art. This particular vase is painted with the chrysanthemum design, which was issued in 1979. It is in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing or wear to the paint. The vase comes with a dark hardwood base. The Franklin Mint and Okura trademarks, as well as other information in both languages, are inscribed in gold on the bottom of the piece. It stands 11 ˝” high in the base, and is about 6” wide. The price is $90.00. All four vases for $300.00. One wooden base is missing but can easily be replaced. | |||||||
