| Qing Dynasty Scholar's Silk Tapestry. Thirty seven inches in height by fifty nine inches in width. Very Good Condition. Two water stains, which do not detract from the piece. This tapestry was recently exhibited at the Ohio Decorative Arts Center in their "Made in China: Decorative Arts in China from 1550-1900" curated by Katie Kilroy of the Cleveland Museum of Art. 1835-1850. Acquired from an Alexandria, Virginia estate. Brilliant silk work utilizing a pallette of silver, jet black, turquoise, red, blue, white, gold, and green to create every face, gesture, dress, horse, butterflys, clouds, flowers and scholar rocks.
