| Paleo-Indian, Flint Ridge material, hand held Knife from Licking County Ohio. Excellent condition. Four and one half inches in length by two and one half inches in width. Excellent Patina. There is a beautiful crystal on one edge per photos. Some may consider this piece a large bifacial Core, but according to R.M. Gramly, in his "Guide to the Paleo-Indian Artifacts of North America", pages 10 to 11, "usually large sized, ... a source of flakes for tool use. The remaining biface may serve as a knife.." Recorded at many Paleo-Indian sites including Anzick, Montana; Simon, Idaho; and Potts, New York. Recovered near the confluence of Little Raccoon Creek and the Licking River, within a few miles of Flint Ridge, Ohio this piece was clearly utilized as a knife. | ||||||
