| Paleo-Indian spearpoint from the Nuckolls site, located on the Cumberland River, in Western Tennessee. Excellent condition. Two and three quarters inches in length, by one and one quarter inches in width. The Outre-passe (overshot) flaking technique is clearly evident. The tip is undamaged. Great patina. Basal grinding is evident for the first third of the piece. Acquired from the family farm by Joe Wright, and then purchased by Gary Noel, member of the Archaeological Society of Ohio. This early paleo point type is sometimes referred to as a Simpson point. | ||||||
